The AMPEST History
AMPEST Exterminating started way back in 1979 as a one man operation in Orland Park. Back then AMPEST was servicing a much smaller service area than today. Under current ownership the AMPEST headquarters was moved to Addison, Illinois. With multiple skilled technicians strategically placed throughout the Greater Chicagoland area AMPEST has a much larger service area and zone of influence then it did 40 years ago. Although the company has grown we still are a family owned business that enjoys serving our customers.
Our AMPEST Team
Our AMPEST team is made up of well trained and professional pest and wildlife control technicians as well as knowledgeable and caring administrators. Most of our technicians have been with us on average 8 years and are true experts in the industry. Our total staff has been with us on average 5 or more years. Some of our senior administrative staff we’ve been blessed to have with us for over 10 years. Our administrative staff is incredibly knowledgeable, I’d dare say some of the most knowledgeable in the industry. We aim for clear and effective communication with our customers. When you are on the phone with an AMPEST administrative staff member you are connected with someone who is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and looking to help.
Our Pest exterminating and wildlife control specialists are some of the best technicians in the industry. They are all well trained professionals who know how to get the job done right. We go through a comprehensive initial training with all of our technicians as well as provide ongoing training and industry education. It takes years for someone in the pest and wildlife industry to really know what they’re doing, especially when identification and proper treatment options are so important. With the combined training and years of experience our pest and wildlife control specialists are well versed and ready to solve any and all of your pest or wildlife problems. Our AMPEST technicians truly are experts.
All of our wildlife control technicians, or we call them wildlife control specialists, carry a DNR Department of Natural Resources permit. It's a Class A Nuisance Wildlife Control Permit which allows you to trap, transport and euthanize nuisance, fur-bearing mammals under the regulations or guidelines of the Department of Natural Resources. All of our wildlife personnel are permitted through the DNR.
At AMPEST we pride ourselves on staff retention. Because of this the years of experience all of our employees have shines through from initial phone conversation to completed pest or wildlife control service.

We had a raccoon tear into our roof and get into the attic and eventually our walls! What a nightmare. We contacted another company and they worked the problem for almost two weeks with no results. We then switched to Ampest and Jeff came out assessed things and got the right trap into the right location. He checked the trap daily (unlike the other company) and in less than 4 days caught the raccoon that had taken up residence. Jeff was prompt, professional and calm (unlike me during this problem). This guy knows his stuff. Not happy with the raccoon but very happy with Jeff and Ampest.
